The Spanish oboist and english horn player Maria Lindo began her studies at the Rafael Orozco Music Conservatory in Córdoba, Spain. She went on to continue her oboe studies at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” and completed her musical education with a Master of Music in the class of Prof. Nick Deutsch at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” in Leipzig.
After moving to Berlin, Ms. Martinez discovered her love of the english horn and has since pursued this passionately. She began taking lessons with Prof. Gerd Albrecht Kleinfeld in Berlin and continued with Prof. Gundel Janneman-Fischer in Leipzig. Ms. Martinez specializes in solo repertoire and chamber music for the english horn.
María Lindo was a member of the Norwestdeutsche Philharmonie and made her debut as soloist with the Concertino for English Horn op.34 by Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari with the Orchestra.
She received a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Stiftung in 2013 and 2014. She attended the Bayreuther Festspiele and was invited to take part in a joint recital with soprano, Ricarda Merbeth and tenor, Wolfgang Koch.
Maria Lindo has played with the Budapest Festival Orchestra, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, WDR Rundfunkorchester Köln, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Münchener Kammerorchester, and the Neues Bachisches Collegium Music. She also gives regular Masterclasses throughout Spain.
Ms. María Lindo is currently based in Berlin, Germany.
